Theatrical Productions

  • [“Nunsense, Amen”]  Directed by Denise Minter, the music rocks the house from the opening "Nunsense is Habit-Forming" to later numbers such as "A Difficult Transition," "The Biggest Ain't the Best," "Just a Coupl'a Sisters" and "The Drive-In." The music saves some of the performances from mediocrity and allows all the performers to shine with this easy and funny material. Tower, Christopher. Battle Creek Enquirer [Battle Creek, Mich] 21 June 2007:WOW.5.
  •  The most amazing thing about this production ("Fiddler on the Roof”) is how this very large show fits into such a small space. Sean Martin's sets allow for scene changes that are especially inventive and quick. Musical direction by Denise Minter is also very deft for the edits to nearly every song in the show. Tower, Christopher. Battle Creek Enquirer, 17 August 2006.
  • [“Forever Plaid”]: Cornwell's also takes a step forward with an impressive set by new designer Sean Martin, and Denise Minter accompanies the singers expertly on the keyboards. Tower, Christopher. Battle Creek Enquirer, 16 June 2005: C.1.
  •  [“Holiday Spectacular”]: But the music is great as always expertly directed by Denise Minter. Other standout tunes include Mienk and Lemos' great duets, such as "Christmas Is," "Home for the Holidays" and "Christmas Waltz." Tower, Christopher. Battle Creek Enquirer [Battle Creek, Mich] 13 Nov 2005: C.1.

Student reviews of "Metro Museums, Music and Movement" class

Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University, Spring 2014

  • “The instructors were very integral in creating this course, especially Denise Minter.  There was sufficient communication, organization, and also a variety of arts genres to experience."
  • “I absolutely loved the way [this class] was structured because it was out of the box which made me look at many of the performances and the places we went to from an entirely different perspective.  I had so much fun with both instructors and their love for the arts was evident.”
  • “I honestly loved this class. I loved the opportunities.  I loved the depth and thoroughness. Everyone really connected with every moment and it was awesome to see how much everyone appreciated our enthusiasm.  I really hope this class is offered again, because it was a nice desteressor class that really helped open my mind to new ideas of looking at art and life.”
  • “Denise Minter put so much time and effort into making this [class] happen, and having Facinelli there to provide her insight into the world of art was always fun.  I believe Denise was the heart and soul of this class…”
